The second quarter of 2015 saw a marginal increase in GDP growth, as well as household consumption. Despite these positive signs however, the industry struggled to overcome the quarters poor weather, and subsequently commercial beverages were only able to grow by just over 1%. This tribulation was not shared by Private Label brands however, as they defied sustained promotional activity from the major brands and continued to grow, particularly in cola, achieving double-digit growth for the month of May.
